Spring Conference to Highlight Hybrid Cloud, Security Services, and Network Automation  

March 29, 2016 – Boston – The Open Networking User Group (ONUG) today announced speakers and instructors for ONUG Spring 2016, hosted by Intuit in Mountain View, California, May 9-11. Focusing on developments in software-defined infrastructure, leading IT executives from the largest enterprises and federal government agencies, financial and industry analysts, and recognized academics will share invaluable insights, and sessions will have a strong emphasis on the continuing evolution of software-defined infrastructure, open hybrid cloud, network automation, and software-defined security.

“The transition from hardware to software-based infrastructure is upon us,” said Nick Lippis, Co-Chairman and Co-Founder of ONUG. “These changes are impacting government and entire enterprise organizations raising fundamental questions. ONUG Conference

Tony Scott, the CIO of the United States, has been invited by the ONUG Board to deliver the opening keynote on the changes occurring as IT transitions from a hardware-based infrastructure model to an open software-defined world. Scott will share perspectives on the need for a New IP architecture that is open, secure, software-based and programmable.

To echo the themes highlighted in the scheduled keynotes and panel sessions, ONUG Working Groups will release three frameworks on Open Hybrid Cloud, Software-Managed Infrastructure, and Software-Defined Security Services.

In addition, ONUG Spring will include research track sessions led by prominent members of the academic community including Sachin Katti of Stanford, Justine Sherry of University of California at Berkeley, and Lakshmi Subramanian of New York University. 

ONUG Academy

The May 9th ONUG Academy, sponsored by Big Switch Networks, will offer a set of deep dive tutorials targeted at DevOps and NetOps teams providing valuable instruction on white box networks, container networking, SD-WAN, virtual pods, and security in open data center environments.
