ONUG Expands West Coast Board Presence to Include eBay, Gap Inc., and Intuit
New Member Expertise Broadens ONUG Narrative to Drive Digital Transformation Strategies from User Perspective
May 17, 2017 – Boston – The Open Networking User Group (ONUG) today announced the appointment of Fred Lima, Principal Architect of Network Security at eBay, to the ONUG Board. Additionally, both Gap Inc. and Intuit expand their representation on the board with the valuable additions of Snehal Patel, Network Architect, Gap Inc. and Ted Turner, Senior Performance Engineer, Intuit as Associate Board Members.
Committed to facilitating engagement among IT business leaders as well as the vendor, cloud, and service provider communities, the ONUG Board now includes 20 IT executives representing numerous companies and industries, including Bank of America, BNY Mellon, Cigna, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, eBay, FedEx, Fidelity Investments, Gap Inc., GE, Intuit, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Pfizer, TD Ameritrade, UBS, and Yahoo.

Fred spent much of his career at Visa running global network engineering, enterprise architecture, and security architecture. He recently joined eBay as principal architect of network security. With his expertise, Fred helps expand the ONUG scope to encompass a stronger focus on security. He currently co-chairs the Software-Defined Security Services Working Group and actively works with other members of the board to incorporate more security perspectives into the ONUG agenda.
Along with Fred, ONUG is thrilled to welcome Snehal Patel of Gap Inc. and Ted Turner of Intuit to the ONUG Associate Board. By expanding their current representation on the ONUG Board, Gap Inc. and Intuit demonstrate an increased commitment and dedication to the ONUG Mission, giving voice to user needs and helping to drive choice and options for the cloud era. Both Snehal and Ted are active in a number of the ONUG Working Groups and Initiatives, with Ted acting as co-chair of the Monitoring & Analytics Working Group.
